The Mission of Communities in Schools (CIS) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

 

What is Communities in Schools?

CIS is a year-round, in-school program that uses a case management approach to help students. CIS helps students improve in academics, attendance, and/or behavior. CIS encourages students to stay in school, graduate, and prepare for college and/or a career. CIS builds and maintains partnerships with private businesses, the government, community-based organizations and public schools to deliver needed services.

CIS supports students by:

*Feeling more confident and better about themselves

*Dealing with life issues

*Improving grades and attendance

*Preparing for college and/or employment

*Addressing social service needs

*Finding resources

*Providing hygiene products 

*Helping with glasses & shoes

*Supplying backpacks and other school supplies 

*CIS now provides Professional Mental Health Counseling FREE of charge for students!
